We are all about the children. We want them to learn English pronunciation whilst having fun. Our interactive words that light up with the audio, helps learners to know exactly which word is being spoken. We want the children and adults alike to connect each spoken word to the words in the books. Seeing and hearing is a great combination to learning!

Phonology
Phonology is the study of speech sounds and is a branch of linguistics.
There are 49 phonetic symbols in total if we include triphthongs; however, our chart shows 44.
Our 26 letter alphabet create 49 sounds.
Phonetic symbols were created by the International Phonetic Association in 1886.
These sounds which are based on Southern England English, are commonly known as Recieved Pronunciation or the Queen’s English, as they are the standard for learning British English pronunciations.
Learning English phonetic symbol sounds is a necessity to become skilled in English pronunciation.
Phonetic symbols are found in the dictionary and are used for transcription purposes.
For example, beside an English word in the Oxford or Cambridge dictionary you will see the same word transcribed.
When transcribing you must decipher the number of sounds not syllables, in a word.
This means each sound in that word is represented by a phonetic symbol. Once you know all the symbol sounds you can pronounce any English word perfectly!
Every word we speak is a combination of phonetic symbol sounds.
